On July 17, 2012, China Center for International Economic Exchanges and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce will co-host the U.S. - China Investment Cooperation Forum at Beijing International Hotel. More than 300 Chinese and American officials, well-known entrepreneurs and scholars will participate in the forum. A number of issues will be discussed thoroughly at the forum, such as the opportunities and challenges facing the U.S. - China investment, America's foreign investment review system, company law and regulation, corporate governance and responsibility. The experts and scholars will make practical proposals to help Chinese firms to invest in the U.S.

Zeng Peiyan

 Zeng Peiyan, Chairman of China Center for International Economic Exchanges, Vice-Chairman of and Chief China Representative to Bo’ao Forum for Asia, former Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council.

Mr.Zeng graduated from the Electronics Faculty of the Radio and Electronics Department of Tsinghua University in 1962, and started to work in the Shanghai Electrical Appliances Institute and then Xi'an Rectifier Institute under the First Ministry of Machine-Building Industry. From 1982-1984, Mr.Zeng served in the Commercial Counselor's Office of the Chinese Embassy in the United States. After returning to homeland in 1984, He served as Head of the General Office and Director-General of the Planning and Construction Department of the Ministry of Electronics Industry, Vice-Minister of Electronics Industry, and then Vice-Minister of Machine-Building and Electronics Industry. From 1992-1998, He was Deputy Secretary-General (ministerial rank) and Head of the General Office of the Central Economic and Financial Leading Group, and Vice-Minister of the State Planning Commission. In 1998, he became the Minister of the State Planning and Development Commission and Deputy Secretary-General of the Central Economic and Financial Leading Group. In 2002, Mr.Zeng was elected the Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee. In 2003, He became the Vice-Premier of the State Council.

During his tenure in the State Planning Commission and the State Council, Mr.Zeng held leadership position in the State Leading Group for Informationization, the Three Gorges Project Construction Committee under the State Council, the State Council Leading Group for Western China Development, the State Council Leading Group for Rejuvenating the Northeast Region and Other Old Industrial Bases, and the State Leading Group for Energy.
